Thank you for taking the time to visit my web page and learn why I am riding for Special Olympics in 2008.

This will be my 3rd year riding in the Pedal for Medals event as well as my third year as a member of the organizing committee for the ride.  During the first year, I was only allowed to ride a portion of the ride because of my recovery from cardiac surgery earlier in the year.  Last year I rode the entire ride except for about a 10-mile stretch on the last day when I developed a pain in my left leg. I rested it and rode in the van until it felt better then completed the ride.  This year I plan to do the whole ride…hopefully without any problems.

I’m asking my family, friends and business associates for their help once again as I seek to raise funds for Special Olympics.  Last year everyone was great and they allowed me to turn over to Special Olympics in excess of $1700.  I would like to set a target of $2000 this year.  You can help me to help this great organization by making a donation in support of my ride.

During the last two years I have met a number of Special Olympians who have talked with our group and explained how the program has benefited them.  It is heart warming to hear these people and to see the impact that Special Olympics has had on their lives.  That is the primary reason why I’m riding.  The secondary reason is that I love to ride and by riding I can do something that helps others in Special Olympics.

How can you donate to support me?  There are two ways:

·    If you prefer to donate by check, please make out a check payable to “Special Olympics” and mail it to me at 4013 Cedarvale Road, Syracuse, NY 13215.

Will your employer match your charitable donation?  If so, it’s a great way to double you donation.  Be sure to request a matching gifts form from you company and forward it to me at the above address and I will forward it to Special Olympics for processing.
