So I am at it again - running that is!
I am training for the San Antonio Rock N Roll Marathon and Half Marathon on November 15th. I hope you will help me in reaching my goal by donating to the SSF!
As many of you know, as CEO of the Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation, I have met many wonderful patients and their families who struggle with living with Sjogren's. From major manisfestations like lung involvement, kidney failure to the development of non-hodgkins lymphoma - their lives are affected forever!
In addition to these inspiring patients, I also have a personal story with Sjogren's. My mother was diagnosed 12 years ago and today lives with the disease in upstate New York. Luckily she is a healthy Sjogren's patient but she still lives with the fear that someday the disease may attack her internal organs or begin to compromise her quality of life!
So that is why I am committed to training to run in the San Antonio Half Marathon on November 15th where I will proudly be running for all Sjogren's patients!
And as an added bonus, my mother will be joining me in running the Half Marathon! Together, we will be covering the 13.1 miles as we increase awareness of Sjogren's with our Team Sjogren's shirts!
So wish us luck and please donate to help us reach our goal! Together, along with you, we can make a difference for all Sjogren's patients.
