What does Firstgiving do?

My charity is not in your system - can I fundraise for it with Firstgiving ?

If your charity is a 501(c)(3) or otherwise tax exempt organization, we can add it to our system. Please contact us for more information.

Does it cost me anything to use Firstgiving?

No - Firstgiving's services are free for fundraisers. We take a transaction fee of 5% of each online donation and the fees charged by credit card companies are also paid from the donation. These fees are currently 2.35% and are subject to change as determined by the credit card companies.

Firstgiving provides customer support as well as hosting of the site.

Our fees are extremely cost effective for charities - by fundraising online you save the charity all the administrative tasks involved with collecting checks, printing and mailing letters, record keeping, etc. Many fundraisers and charities have raised even more funds than expected using this online tool!
