Scleroderma patients suffer from "a diverse array of symptoms" ranging from hard skin to fibrotic scar tissue in multiple organs.  Science has no explanation as to the cause of this disease and, so far, no cure.  Important reseach is being conducted in genetics, as well as developing new ways to treat symptoms.
