Dear Friends and Family, On Saturday, June 14, 2008 I am going on my first mission trip to Jamaica with Mustard Seed Communities (MSC). I am going with a team of 8 students and 2 adults. We will live and work at Blessed Assurance, an orphanage for disabled, abandoned and abused children in Montego Bay. While I'm in Jamiaca I will be working with younger children who are disabled and need a lot of help.
How can you help me? First, our team desperately need your prayers. This is the first mission trip for all of us and we could use all your many thoughts and prayers. We also need your financial support. The money raised goes directly to cover the cost of supplies and expenses needed to help these children throughout the year. I am trying to raise $600.
Any amount you can contribute will be appreciated and put to good use. If you are unable or decide not to contribute, I would still appreciate prayers. I know that the children of Mustard Seed as well as those of us traveling will feel the impact of your love and support.
Our group has done two fundraising events and the money raised helped us purchase various types of medical and craft supplies to bring to the children. Each of us will take a large suitcase filled with items for the orphanage and one carry-on bag with our own items for the week.
Thanks for your help -- and please forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Love, Sarah Wolfe
P.S. I am not the only girl going. My best friend Kit Wallace is also part of the group.
