My personal message:

August 24, 2008, you will have a unique opportunity to be apart of an event that will help change lives.  The PB Shuffle is a 5k fun run/walk.  The race will start and finish at King's High School Track.  The course will take you through some of the beautiful neighborhoods in Shoreline and along serene parks.  You can register for this event at www.active.com.    The day will consist of the 5k race, which starts at 9AM; then proceed with Kid's races, Awards, BBQ, and vendor booths.  The proceeds from this event are going to the Melanoma Research Foundation, which has been established to help find a cure for Melanoma.

The PB Shuffle was created in memorial of Philip A. Burk, who lost his battle to Melanoma February 11, 2007.  He is survived by his wife, 7 children and 9 grandchildren.

Philip was a great family man, friend and devoted to his Faith.  He spent his life helping others through his business and charities he supported.  He taught us all by example through his honesty, faith and integrity.  Even though there were times when Phil was completely exhausted and wanted to give up, he always had the hope of getting better and beating "the beast".  Sadly  he was unable to conquer this deadly disease, but we are continuing his fight through the creation of the PB Shuffle.

It is extremely important for you to have any chance of surviving Melanoma Cancer that it be caught at its early stages. From the time of Phil's diagnosis to death was 7 months.  Melanoma is a very fast cancer and is taking more and more lives!

Through the PB Shuffle and our sponsors, we are hoping to raise awareness on this devastating cancer.   This cancer does not discriminate on age, race, or gender, so it is critical that all people are educated.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support the PB Shuffle fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
