As we all mourn the loss of Patrick Swayze, whose life was cut short by pancreatic cancer on September 14th, we celebrate an incredibly talented actor, dancer and a humble man whose celebrity status never overshadowed the goodness that he brought to humanity.  Patrick fought this disease with a courage and strength that served as a beacon of hope to those all over the world who have been touched by this insidious disease.
 
Pancreatic cancer is the most lethal cancer in the United States with a five-year survival rate of only 5 percent. This year over 42,000 people will be diagnosed with the disease and over 35,000 will die. Despite the statistics, pancreatic cancer is the most under-funded among leading cancer killers with less than 2 percent of the National Cancer Institute’s annual research budget—a figure far too low given the severity of the disease.
 
It is with heartfelt honor that we pay tribute to the lasting legacy and beautiful memory of Patrick Swayze.  .  .the actor, the dancer, the friend to so many. . .and the loving husband to his wife Lisa. 
 
All donations made to this site will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the only national organization creating hope in a comprehensive way through research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure.
