Thanks for visiting Abare's Fundraising Page for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
MSF operates in some of the most forgotten and dire global conflict zones by delivering emergency medical care to some of our most deprived brothers and sisters. The courage and determination of its volunteers and workers continues to be a constant source of inspiration to me. These brave young men and women assist in over 70 countries, dealing with some of the world's most acute crises ranging from ethnic tension in Thailand's northern Petchabun province to the war in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Their dedication to adhering to humanitarian principles of medical ethics and impartiality is truly unparalleled and the organization received the Nobel Prize in 1997.
Two years ago you all helped me raise over $3,000.00 for MSF in less than two months. I was so impressed by the alumni, parents, and friends who donated for this great cause. You all motivated me to strive for my best and pushed me to qualify for elite entry with the world's top runners for this 2009.
So please remember! April 20th, Patriots Day, is Marathon Monday, and there will be plenty of parties, drinking, and cookouts all over the course. I'll be wearing a bright red shirt with "Abare" on it and I'd be psyched to just hear your voice!
I would be very grateful if you would be able to donate this year. Thanks for all your support - and please don't forget to forward this to anyone who might be interested in donating to Doctors Without Borders.
With warm regards,
Mike Abare
