For those of you who don't know, I was diagnosed with Lupus when I was about 14 years old.  Through events like Walk For Lupus Now, I have been fortunate enough to have received the best care and treatments.  This is my second time participating in this event and I hope to do many more in the future.  Please let me know if you have any questions about this disease.  I have lived with it for so long and actually conducted quite a bit of my own research on the disease.  I don't know everything but I can certainly help you understand a little bit more about how this disease affects so many people.

I feel so fortunate to have lived a relatively healthy life thus far.  With the exception of a few "bumps in the road," I have been okay and I was able to have a beautiful son.  But not everyone is that lucky.  I participate in these types of events and try to raise funds for research so one day, we will find a cure for Lupus.
