Can you imagine? Some of the world’s finest student are in Central Ohio preparing for their future. International Friendships (IFI) exists to help them get adjusted to their new life in the U.S.
IFI volunteers from all over the area pick up international students from the airport, help them with their English and much more (see some of our volunteer opportunities below). The work it takes to mobilize and coordinate volunteers, communicate with students and serve them on campus...takes funding.

A List of Some Key Volunteer Opportunities with IFI
This isn’t a complete list, but will illustrate the magnitude of opportunities…
Airport pickup: Be the first to welcome a newly arriving international student.
English Conversation Partner: Meet with one international student regularly helping them with their English and building a friendship as well!
Temporary Housing: Welcome an international student into your home for 3-5 days when they first arrive.This will give you a great opportunity to get to know each other, while they are looking for a place to live.
Holiday Hosting: Invite one or more students to join your Thanksgiving and/or Christmas celebration and share your family’s joy and hospitality.
IFI Trips: Travel as a member of the leadership team on one of our trips to DC, Niagara, Chicago and more. These trips are great for building friendships.
Garage Sales: Drive students to garage sales, and help them select furniture for their new "home". We also deliver!
International Moms Groups (IMG): Befriend an international mom and help with their children, their English, Bible study and other fun activities. Many of these wives/moms are here on their husband’s visa and have plenty of time for these kinds of activities.
