The mission of the American Foundation for Children with AIDS is to improve the lives of children and youth struggling with the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. We provide cost effective relief, services, medical and social support to help these victims achieve their full life potential. Additionally, a great deal of AFCA's efforts is directed at educating the public about the AIDS pandemic through newsletters, brochures and our website.

Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up (http://www.climbupsokidscangrowup.com/) is kicking off this year’s event with a Summer Summit Challenge. Climbers and hikers all over the country are invited to participate in summiting the highest peak in each of the 50 states of the United States in an effort to raise awareness and funds for pediatric AIDS.
June 27 – July 6, 2008 is the time frame to accomplish this feat, giving people climbing Denali time to reach the top... The mountains in our area are a touch smaller, so we're hoping to hike Sassafras Mountain in South Carolina, Mount Mitchell in North Carolina, and Clingman's Dome in Tennessee during this time.
