Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
The 2008 Chicagoland Ride for Kids is now behind us. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude for your show of support. Your generosity is evidenced by the amount collected in memory of Chaya. This website will continue to be active for those who come to visit it and still wish to donate. It's not too early for us to start thinking about next year's ride, since a cure has not yet been found. As long as parents are losing children to this devastating illness, we cannot give up our efforts to help fund the search for a cure.
The Chicago Ride for Kids is an annual event attended by thousands of motorcyclists. Each motorcycle participant contributes a donation of at least $35 to participate in this ride, but it is our goal to raise more - which is evidenced by last year's Chicago motorcycling community bringing in $405,641- the largest single amount ever for any Ride for Kids. During last year's "Celebration of Life" ceremony several of us remembered the recent passing of a bright, young girl who went to school with our children and lived with her family in our community. With our help, we pray that no other child or family should have to endure this. It was then that we decided we wanted to dedicate our 2008 ride to Chaya. Please help make a difference in the life of a child diagnosed with a brain tumor by making a donation - however large or small.
Chaya Mitchell, of blessed memory, was a model of strength and determination, sensitivity and kindness, commitment and faith. She left us at only 19 years of age on June 17, 2007. The strength and courage she showed during her battle with a brain tumor has brought our community together to want to do more to help alleviate this illness which is claiming the lives of our children. Chaya never lost her faith in G-d and continued showing her unique strength up until she left us. It is very fitting that with the inspiration we have gained from Chaya, we do what we can to help find a cure so that other children can live a long life.
Thank you very much for sponsoring our group in Chaya's memory. Your donation really means a lot to us, her family, and to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. You can find out more about the PBTF by visiting www.rideforkids.org
