Seventh Annual Omaha Buddy Walk
On October 4th over 2000 walkers came out to UNO to raise awareness and acceptance of those with Down syndrome.
Nearly $115,000 was raised to support programs and services in the Omaha area.
Thanks to all of our sponsors, volunteers, fundraisers & walkers!
The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to promote awareness and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and has grown from 17 walks in 1996 to 250 in 2005. Last year, over 250,000 people took part in walks thoughout the country. The Omaha Buddy Walk is held in October to celebrate National Down Syndrome Awareness Month
