Hello Family and Friends,
A little about what I do:
A year and a half ago I accepted a job offer to work at The REACH School in South Portland; little did I know how much my life would change. I quickly learned I was going to have the opportunity to work with a highly educated and dedicated staff who provide services to a population of amazing children and families. I work in a preschool classroom that services both typically developing children and children with special needs, mainly children with autism spectrum disorder. I am rewarded every day with hugs, smiles, high fives and the ability to watch young children grown and learn. That's why I do what I do.
This school has a wonderful program that fosters so much learning and growth for each child it services provided by a supportive team of teachers. I am lucky to work here, and I hope you are able to help me out with a donation to assist us provide an even higher quality preschool program for these children and families.
Money raised in the past:
Last year I participated in this fundraising project and it is amazing what The Friend's of the REACH School did with the money raised. My classroom is going to be purchasing a "loft" play structure for our classroom which will encourage so much play and learning. We have also been able to purchase enough occupational therapy equipment to have the resources necessary in each classroom. Having these materials in our classrooms promotes large motor movement and sensory input that children need and seek daily. We have things such as thick floor mats, bouncy balls, crash pads, balance beams, a ball house, scooters, slides, etc. The list goes on and on. The money raised was also used to fund cameras for each classroom, as well as lap tops for the lead teachers.
