Thanks for your time and concideration in checking out this website and for learning more about what I am passionate about.
I am very lucky to get to wake up every day and go to work at a special purpose pre-school in South Portland, ME called The REACH School. This school services students from Cumberland County who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders as well as typically developing children. For many of our students the most common elements of our lives, the ones we take for granted, are the most difficult. Students in my school struggle with their senses, their emotions, their friendships, their play and their learning.
Our job as members of the REACH school community is to provide the means for our students to learn and develop the skills they need to cope with their environment, to engage with the world of their peers and the world around them.
I work in one of the 4 classrooms at the Reach School. It's a classroom of 3-5 year old children who are both typically developing and who are on the autism spectrum. I work with three other very dedicated and loving staff members who, along with the children, make every day new and exciting. I love coming into work knowing something new will happen, that someone may teach me something new and that my day will never be boring.
My passion is watching children learn and grow. To watch a child learn is like watching a flower opening in the spring to the warm sunshine. I hope you will help by donating whatever you can to this wonderful program so we can continue to offer a wonderful and amazing program for these children and their families.
Thanks so very much!! Beth
I invite you to take a role in the REACH school community, supporting the children of the REACH school and the dedicated staff who work with them everyday.
