Big Brothers Big Sisters of Park and Sweet Grass Counties served over 621 children in 2007 through professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships.  We continue to lead BBBS agencies nationwide for the number of children served per capita.  In addition, we involve over 300 high school students as mentors to younger children, providing these students with training, on-going staff supervision and support and leadership development opportunties. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters program are the only Best Practice prevention programs in Montana that are proven to impact a broad spectrum of risk factors (i.e. delinquency, alcohol, tobacco and drug use, teen pregnancy, school drop out) while simultaneously helping children reach their highest potential.  Children who are mentored through Big Brothers Big Sisters are 46% less likely than their peers to to begin using drugs, 55% less likely to skip school and 33% less likely to have violent confrontations.  Parents report 77% exhibit improved self confidence and teachers report that 61% achieve improved academic performance.
