My personal message:
Once again, I'm not running
in
the Rescue Run. I'm part of the team RUNNING the Rescue Run. But, this doesn't stop me from asking for cash for my favorite cause.
This is the eighth annual Rescue Run, and the eighth year I've been with PetPromise in some capacity. Eight years ago, I adopted my precious Savannah, setting off a chain of events that eventually landed me on the board of directors. Go figure.
If it weren't for PetPromise, Savannah would probably not be alive, nor would Alaska and Penelope. Kismet, Snickerdoodle, and Dante would have been killed at the age of 10 days had their mother Ember been taken to the county humane society where they were found. Instead, they're at my house (eating like pigs), and Ember is safe with her adoptive family a few miles down the road. If it weren't for rescues like PetPromise, Bece, Stevie-bob, and Whiskey wouldn't be with me, either. And that, my friends and family, would suck. Bigtime.
So consider making a contribution to PetPromise so we can save more homeless pets, trap-neuter-return and feed more feral cats, and educate more people on ways to reduce pet overpopulation that does NOT involve killing animals left and right. Because there IS a better way. Don't you want to be a part of that?
